For the 4th year, BookShout will be attending Book Expo America (BEA), the publishing industry’s premier event in New York City. The 2015 event will be unlike any other. Our CEO, Jason Illian, will be speaking on the panel “How Innovation Happens.” The discussion will focus on the factors needed for innovation to thrive.
One key factor leading innovation is a willingness to explore marketplace drivers like competition, science, and technology. To that end, BookShout is partnering with Book Expo America and participating publishers. Together, we will create a cost-effective, digital compilation of excerpts from titles selected for this year’s BEA Editor’s Buzz Forums. This initiative will be made possible by BookShout’s world-class technology.
Innovation Creates a Buzz
The BEA Editor’s Buzz eBook will include excerpts from the categories of Adult, Young Adult, and Middle Grade to merge with the forum categories. This will be strategically promoted to BEA attendees, exhibitors, media and industry professionals. Rather than lug around a physical book, expo attendees will be able to instantly download and read digital content as the event progresses. Users can take notes, share thoughts, manage highlight or notable content within the BookShout app. In addition, treader can search within the excerpts to follow along with the author as they speak at the forums.
Our collaboration with Book Expo America marks the first time BEA has offered eBooks as part of its mission. As a result of this joint venture will make expanding its reach to a wider audience possible.
